                                                       Covid-19. Schools closed.

Dear Parents,

I understand that it is difficult continuing home schooling. Each teacher has sent more details of work to you on email. If you did not receive an email please contact me. More work will be sent out if/when we learn that the schools continue to be closed after the Easter break. During the Easter holidays, children should have a break from school work. They might like to do some baking, gardening , art instead.

I spoke to Fr. Derek and he says it is too early to make a decision as to whether or not First Holy Communion will go ahead as planned. I will let you know if there are any updates on that front.

Check out RTE2 at 11am each day..

There is a deluge of work online given that there is free access to Folens and Edco.

But do remember that the children need down time too!

Unfortunately the Easter raffle will have to be postponed. It will take place at a later date. All raffle lines sold will be honoured. Any sheets people have at home can be filled in and given to us when a new date is announced.

Folens have given free access to everyone during this time.

Parents and teachers can follow the steps below to get access:

  1. Go to FolensOnline.ie and click register

  2. Select Teacher

  3. Fill in a username, email and password

  4. For Roll Number use the code:  Prim20

Children from junior infants to 2nd are used to Abair Liom which has lots of games, comhra, songs etc. If you log on your child will probably be able to navigate the resources for you. Those from 3rd to 6th should try it too. It really is a fantastic resource. If they find the level too difficult just try a lower class level. Starlight and Explorers are also being used by the younger classes and have many resources and videos. It may take a few moments to set up an account with Folens but it is well worth it.
